Deaf Awareness Week 3-6.5.22

At St Margaret's we celebrated Deaf Awareness through having cake sales for staff to raise money for the National Deaf Children's Society. The cakes were donated by staff and by the parents of the deaf children that we have at the school.

We have also had assemblies talking about the life of Helen Keller as one of the most famous deafblind people in history.

Our teacher of the deaf has also spent time in each class this week.  Pupils have enjoyed the chance to ask questions about deafness and to learn more signs to extend their understanding and use of BSL around the school.
