Pupils with a Hearing Impairment Sail in the Bay

Pupils from St. Margaret’s go sailing in Torbay 1.5.19

As part of our inclusion for hearing impaired pupils, four pupils from Key Stage 1 and 2 at St. Margaret’s have been sailing this week with Marshall Ritchie and his Sailability organisation.

In order to support communication and to foster development of friendships for hearing impaired children, four pupils have taken part in a sailing event this week and will do so again over the next two weeks.  Two hearing children, along with two hearing impaired children and Deaf Inclusion Workers set out for a morning trip in Torquay Harbour. They all enjoyed the first trip and had a chance to have a go at steering the boat.  They are looking forward to doing it again next week. Fingers crossed for the weather!
