There's no better way to explore the changing seasons than being outside! Our outdoor area became a hive of activity during the recent cold spell - commonly known that most children don't seem to feel the cold!! The excitement and inquisitiveness surrounding the ice led to numerous self-initiated experiments.  The Ipads were used to look really closely at the shards of ice. We could see bubbles inside and wondered why that might be. Some pieces of ice were more bumpy than others and some took longer to melt. We found frozen pieces of fancy dress costumes (fabric) and that felt very strange! How would we get it back into a flexible mask? Someone had a great idea of putting it into warm water so we tested this out.  We predicted that it would begin to soften and it did! We just had to wait for it to dry out before we could wear it again!
