Y6 Volleyball Smash 27.2.24

In the Spring term the Y6 children focused on Volleyball in their PE lessons.  At the end of the unit the children played in an intra-school competition in school, which gave them an experience of competition.  The most able also had an opportunity to represent St Margaret’s at a Volleyball competition against other schools in our cluster.  They competed against Homelands, St Marychurch and Priory and the Sports Leaders from St Cuthbert Mayne helped organise the competition.  The Y6 children loved the opportunity to compete against other schools from the same area.  We were able to take 30 children, split into 3 teams of 10.  The children were organised into an A, B and C team.  There was an A, B and C pool and each team played the other school teams in their pool.  The A and B teams won their pool, winning all of their games.  The C team also played very well, just missing out on the top spot coming a close second.  They had lots of fun developing their skills and experiencing competition.  Jake had a special mention for demonstrating fair play and encouraging others and received an individual medal.  All the children played very well and we were very proud of them.  Well done!
