Girls' Football News 23.5.22

On Monday, the Year 5/6 girls football 'B' team travelled to Sherwell Valley school to play their final end of season friendly match.
After an opening 8 minutes of end to end action, St Margaret’s took the lead when Amelia K drove down the wing, cut inside the box and struck a sweet low shot into the bottom corner. A minute before half time, Sherwell equalised from a rebound, even though Lacey A made a terrific save from the initial shot.
1-1 at half time. The second half saw both teams have their chances, some great saves from both keepers, but it was Sherwell that took two of their chances to win the match 3-1.
A great advert for girls football, our pupils did themselves proud and, most importantly, enjoyed it! Roll on next season. The 'A' team still have their President's Cup semi-final to play after half term, look out for the date.
