Y6 Quicksticks 23.11.22

On Wednesday 23^rd November, we took some Y6 children to take part in a Quicksticks Festival at Torbay Leisure Centre.  This was a Torbay wide event organised by The School Games.  Quicksticks is a mini hockey game designed for primary aged children.  The festival included a mixture of skill development focusing on dribbling, passing and tackling.  And, friendly competitive games were organised at the end so that they could use their hockey skills in a competitive game and St Margaret’s won.  They also developed friendship and self-confidence, developing physical skills and building confidence to engage in physical activity.  The activities were delivered by a Torbay Hockey coach, which offered them a local community club exit route to continue playing hockey outside of school.
