Y4 Stone Age to Ancient Egyptians at Torquay Museum 3.11.22

Year 4 started their history topic on Ancient Egypt with a trip to Torquay Museum.

They had a great day learning about the boy mummy Psamtek, making a scarab beetle and dressing up as Egyptians. They also had the opportunity to use hieroglyphics, create a pyramid and play a game from Egyptian times. The highlight of the day for many was taking part in a role-play mummification ceremony.

During the day, they were able to explore other exhibits in the museum and particularly enjoyed the Ancestors exhibit as they got to recap their knowledge of the Stone Age from Year 3.
