Y5/6 Football League Update 27.2.24

Torbay Primary Schools

The recent wet weather didn’t stop schools from completing their league fixtures and the first round of games in their league.  At the beginning of the season St Margaret’s were put in the B league, this is organised by the school’s enrolment number.  By the deadline St Margaret’s and Babbacombe finished on the same points in the B league and it was decided by the schools involved and the committee that a play-off between the schools would be played to decide who would move up to the A league.  We played the play-off match on Monday 19th February at a neutral ground and the boys won 2-1.  We have now succeeded in a movement up to the A league and the points have been reset back to 0.  Below are each leagues circumstances before the play-off.

The B team have also played 4 friendly games and just like the A team, they won 3 and drew 1.  I am now in the process of arranging fixtures with teams from Sherwell Valley, Cockington, Warberry and Shiphay and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the boys who have represented the school so far this season and also to all of the parents and for their efforts in getting the players to the fixtures on time and for washing the kits over the course of the season.  Good luck St Margaret’s A and B teams!
