April Fools

Did you trick someone this morning, or did you get tricked yourself? Have you wondered why we have April Fools Day? No-one really knows. But some history experts think it may have started in France in the 1500s (500 years ago). Some French regions celebrated the last day of the year on March 31st because they used a different type of calendar to the one we use now. The other regions, (who used January 1st as New Years Day), made "fools" of the people who thought the new year started on April 1st. Well, you would, wouldn't you!

I hope you remembered to stop tricking people at mid-day because tradition says that you become the "fool" if you trick people after 12 o'clock.
