Boys' Y5/6 Footballing Success in the Autumn Term 2019

It has been a busy term for the Y5/6 Football Teams who have represented the school fantastically so far this year! The boys have trained every week at 8am on a Friday and despite a very wet November and December the attendance has been as enthusiastic and consistent as ever.

The term started with the boys playing friendlies against St Marychurch and Torre schools in which all children performed fantastically.

Throughout October, November and December, the boys have enjoyed playing more competitive matches in both the League and The Bewley Cup.

The A Team have won all of their league matches so far this season (5-1 vs Cockington, 2-1 vs Sherwell Valley and 1-0 vs Shiphay) and are currently top of the league going into the Christmas break. This team contains a fantastic mixture of children who are experienced school footballers and some children playing their first ever competitive matches for St Margaret's.

After a hard fought group stage the A team have also advanced to the quarter finals of the Bewley Cup (a cup that St Margaret’s won last year) and have a match against Preston to look forward to in the new year.

Every child who has come to club has represented the school in some way this term and all have done so with a smile on their face! They have all played the game in the right way and have been excellent advocates for the school!

Football club will start back in January when we will also be completing our league fixtures and continuing our journey to (hopefully) the Bewley Cup Final!

Well played boys!
