Celebrating Diversity with the Windrush Story 21.6.22

We were treated to such a memorable and entertaining day on Tuesday 21st June. Nev and Hayley from Torbay Multicultural Society performed the story of the Windrush immigrants who came over from the Caribbean to the UK in the 50s, 60s and 70s. The kitchen staff treated us to a festival of Caribbean food while Mrs Posey and Mr Hopkins put on musical workshops for songs from the era. We have some new young fans of David Bowie as a result! Really good fun. Thank you to everybody who helped make this happen and a big thanks to the PTA who funded the performance.

We also linked all this to this term's Geography homework project, contrasting the two different locations. Have a look in the Geography Blog to see more of this.
