Year 6 Rounders Competition - June 2022

 In the Summer term the Y6 children focus on striking and fielding games like rounders and cricket in their PE lessons.  One of the biggest competitions between the local schools in our cluster is rounders.  The children played in an inter-school competition with Priory, Upton St James, Homelands and St Marychurch, organised by the Sports Leaders from St Cuthbert Mayne.  The Y6 children loved the opportunity to compete against other schools from the same area.  We were able to take 30 children, split into 2 teams of 15.  The children were organised into an A and B team.  All of the A teams played each other and all of the B teams played each other and after 16 games of rounders had been played by the schools, the A team won their group, winning all of their games and the B team also won their group, winning all of their games.  They had lots of fun developing their skills and experiencing competition.  All the children played with 100% effort and we were very proud of them.  Well done!
