Year 5 Cricket Festival 23.9.21

Back in the summer term, a Devon Community Cricket coach (Niall Leahy) came into school to deliver a whole day of cricket coaching.  The children focused on developing their throwing, bowling and batting skills.  These cricket skills are a part of the All Stars Cricket programmes that both Torquay and Barton cricket clubs run.  The aim of the programme is to encourage children to take up or progress with their cricket.  Following on from the cricket day, some Y5 children took part in a cricket festival on Thursday 23^rd September at St Cuthbert Mayne.  This was organised by St Cuthbert Mayne Sports Leaders and Devon Community Cricket.  The children enjoyed a fun afternoon of activities with an emphasis on enjoyment and participation and not competition.  All of the children achieved their best and the school is very proud of them.
